A new season of the weekly Good Companions Club launched at the St Ives Theatre earlier this month. The club has resumed with meetings every Tuesday from 1.45pm for 2.00pm to 3.15pm in Rachel's Room at the theatre. There's always an interesting speaker or entertainment, plus a cup of tea or coffee, a piece of cake and a raffle. At this month's launch event, members and guests enjoyed an impromptu one-man show from Kidz R Us Director Phil Barnett. The club is aimed at the over-50s, but all ages are welcome. It's a great chance to meet, have a chat and be inspired. The group is lively, full of spark and ideas, and the weekly events are a little bit different from what you'd expect of a club for the older generation. There's a £10 joining fee, then it's £2 per session, though potential members are invited to drop in and trial a session or two, free of charge. For more information, phone the St Ives Theatre on 01736 797007. |
