Kidz R Us: One Night Only

Not to be missed is One Night Only, a unique charity event organised by some of our members.

This evening concert, taking place at the St Ives Theatre on Saturday, 25 February from 7.30pm, brings together an array of talented local entertainers, mainly young people, to raise much-needed funds for Kidz R Us.

The line-up includes solo singers and groups performing hits from top musicals, such as Hairspray, Grease, Chicago, Starlight Express and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, with a sprinkling of swing, rock-and-roll, pop and R&B numbers. An illusionist act strikes a note of mystery and intrigue.

Produced and directed by 17-year-old Kidz R Us member Jason Sims, who recently won plaudits in the role of Abanazar in Aladdin, the concert aims to give less experienced local talents the chance to work alongside and perform on stage with more practiced entertainers.

Jason says: 'It's set to be a lively evening with amazing soloists and singer-songwriters, and big chorus numbers including some major dance routines. It's been a real team effort with a lot of thought being put into the running order, staging, lighting and costumes. There'll be a bar and raffle, and all proceeds go to Kidz R Us!'
